Supplies - 1" binder, notebook paper, pencils (mechanical or wooden will be ok.) NO pens. All other
art supplies to be used in class will be provided throughout the year.
A district-wide one-time $10 art fee is required for 8th grade Pre-AP Art. This actually saves students $20-$30. Questions about the art fee should be directed to the office.
8th Grade Pre-AP Art is a full-year course designed to engage students in activities pertaining to art history, artists, styles, and techniques. Students will learn the steps of art criticism, and critique their own artwork as well as provide a written artist's statement for their own projects. Students will be required to complete some projects outside of class, and maintain an art portfolio. Coursework will be written, as well as hands on activities and projects.
All students will participate in uploading and maintaining their online gallery/portfolio at
Artsonia.com. Student work will be hidden until parent permission is granted. Please grant permission, and offer supportive comments on their pages.
